About the Artist

Abbi has successfully taken her passion beyond the canvas, creating stunning countertops, custom furniture, backsplashes, and even full walls based on her creations.  These works can be seen throughout the mid-Atlantic region.  Her work has also taken on a parallel life in the giftware world; her colors and patterns lending themselves to a variety of applications, particularly fabric, paper ware and trays that possess an ease and accessibility for the buyer.

One of her most recent projects includes collaborating with Yogi Therapist, Kelli Anders to launch Art 4 Living Well, a program that embodies mindful movement and art allowing participants to tap into their creativity and find the window into their souls.

Abbi has been featured in solo and group exhibitions in Washington, DC, New York and Bologna, Italy, and word-of-mouth accolades among individual collectors is fueling demand for her custom pieces.  Custis has been featured in several publications, including ARTisSpectrum Magazine and Coastal Style Magazine's 2017 Faces of Inspiration.  Her work was also included on Home & Garden Television’s Beachfront Bargain Hunt: Renovation series.

She received her Bachelors of Arts Degree from Dickinson College and worked for many years as a professional event planner in Washington, DC perfecting the art of large scale entertaining - an inspiration for her giftware line.  An Eastern Shore (Maryland) native, she splits her time between Salisbury, MD and Onancock, Virginia with her stalwart support system - her husband, John, and their three sons.
